Looking through Tastes of Thedas and I found this little tid bit.

I just love the implication that Cullen looks like such shit sometimes that random Fereldans (and/or possibly the chef) will just drop jars of pickled eggs off in his office, no questions asked. They don't know what's wrong with him but HEY. Pickled Eggs should fix it.

And Cullen doesn't even blink twice, he just pops that bad boy open and shoves the eggs into his mouth like a chipmunk.

I've already talked about this cursed version of Alcmene's family tree, where she is the daughter of Electryon and Anaxo who is the daughter of Alcaeus who is the brother of Electryon. Now, in order to make things even more unsettling because why not make things more disturbing than they have to be, one of the women who is mentioned as the possible wife of Alcaeus is Hipponome. Hipponome was the daughter of Menoeceus who was the son of Pentheus, being the sister of Creon amd Jocasta (Oedipus' mother/wife) and part of the House of Cadmus.

Not sure if the curse had anything to do with what Alcmene has been through (though to be perfectly honest being banged by your own great-grandfather disguised as your husband is already a curse on itself), but at this point I'm wondering wheter or not it would've been any difference if that necklace would've been given to Hipponome (and then given to Anaxo and then Alcmene) instead of Jocasta.

Alright, we are getting deeeeeeep into Phoenix's insane royal family lore so strap in!

"Officially", Azulon's mother is a woman named Lien, who was actually Sozin's third wife. His previous wives had died under mysterious circumstances after failing to produce heirs...

Lien was 17 when she married the then-80-year-old Sozin.

She was a famously beautiful firebender from a wealthy noble family. People say that Azula resembles her, both looks-wise and personality-wise, as she was a shrewd and harsh woman with a sharp tongue. Also famous for refusing to sit still and be quiet, though she had the pretty part down haha.

While she and Sozin actually got along great, they were rarely intimate (mostly due to the fact that Sozin was gay as fuck but also because he was old as fuck). Unsurprisingly, Lien failed to get pregnant...

...however, someone else did.

Perhaps as a sort of contingency plan, Sozin was also "breeding" another suitable woman, of royal blood. His daughter, Shei.

Naturally, Shei was never formally recognized as Sozin's child, being the product of incest and adultery. She was stolen from Zeisan when she was just a child, and raised by a governess and nursemaids in a small, secluded estate just outside the capital. She eventually inherited the estate, though she never knew the truth behind her true parentage.

Once they realized Shei was pregnant, Sozin and Lien used this to their advantage. Their plan was to simply pass the child off as theirs together, a trueborn heir. It wasn't hard for Lien to fake a pregnancy and as soon as he was born, Azulon was sent to live in the royal palace, of course unaware of his true parentage as well... at least until a deathbed confession from Sozin.

As Azulon had spent much of his childhood isolated, raised by his tutors and nursemaids with the occasional visit from his father and "mother", he was eager to know the woman who had given birth to him. Unfortunately for him, it was too late. Shei had been driven insane after years of suffering from untreated postpartum psychosis.

Still, she was moved to the palace and Azulon ensured she was well cared for.

Iroh and Ozai actually knew her for a bit, albeit as the "raving mad woman in the attic" so to speak. She died when Ozai was a child and since Iroh was the older one and "a man" (plus the golden boy), Azulon wound up telling him the whole sordid story...

For some reason I like to draw him being aggressive? Which is really out of character for him except when he feels in danger. To be fair he became extremely aggressive, scared, and overprotective after uhhhh... I'll explain later
